Boston University professor Mitchell Zuckoff will appear as a guest star on “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart on Wednesday on Comedy Central to promote his new book.
Zuckoff’s book, “Lost in Shangri-La: A True Story of Survival, Adventure and the Most Incredible Rescue Mission of World War II,” tells the story of three officers’ survival after their plane crashed during a tour over the “Shangri-La valley” of New Guinea, according to Zuckoff’s site.
“I’m excited about the interview,” Zuckoff, a journalism professor, said during a phone interview on Tuesday, “but I’m supposed to play it cool.”
Since the nature of the show is spontaneous, Zuckoff said he will be going into the interview unscripted.
Zuckoff is a former reporter for the Boston Globe, where he was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting. He has authored four other books, including one with COM professor Dick Lehr.
