City Crime Logs: AIDed Assault

The following crime reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton District D-14 crime logs from Feb. 15 to Feb. 21.

Last Wednesday at about 10 p.m., a 24-year-old male was smoking a cigarette at his 136 Chiswick Rd., Brighton, apartment on his front porch. While smoking, the victim noticed several young men sitting around near his house. One of the men got up and approached the victim, brandishing a machete. The suspect pointed the machete at the man’s chest, sliced him slightly and demanded his money and cell phone. The suspect took $103 and the victim’s cell phone, after which he brandished a hypodermic needle and threatened, “I have AIDS and I will stick you.” After this, a scuffle ensued in which the victim was stuck with the needle. The suspect was tracked down later in the night and arrested on charges of armed assault, home invasion, armed robbery and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.

Two cran-vods and a pair of handcuffs

At about 12 a.m. last Wednesday, two police officers conducted an inspection of T’s Pub at 973 Commonwealth Ave. in Allston. Inside, the detectives observed two young-looking females drinking mixed alcoholic beverages. The detectives approached the women and asked for proof of age. One of the females explained she was not asked for proof of age and was let in by a friend. She was under 21. The other female admitted to using someone else’s ID to gain entrance. When asked what they were drinking, both females replied “vodka and cranberry.” The detectives issued licensed premise violations to T’s Pub.

Redhead

At about 5:30 a.m. last Thursday, a 22-year-old male was at his Brighton apartment at 1691 Commonwealth Ave. when his doorbell began ringing furiously. The victim buzzed the person in and opened his door only to discover he did not know the heavy-set, red-haired man at his door. The red-haired suspect would not let the victim shut the door, asking for some money.  The redhead pushed his way into the apartment, was given $3 by the victim and then stole the victim’s iPod before fleeing the apartment. Before leaving, the redhead told the victim he was fleeing to Brighton center. The suspect said he believed the redhead to be intoxicated.
