Neil Dempsey wrote one hell of a column in The Daily Free Press Jan. 28 (“You are where you come from”). Whereas most of the columns that appear in the DFP are supposedly not about the author but still self-absorbed, Dempsey’s writing is telling and touching and accessible to anyone, not just Boston University students. Let his column be the new standard for the gutless, self-referencing egotists to live up to.
