INTERROBANG

This week we talked to poet and Boston University graduate Elizabeth Alexander, who delivered a poem at President Barack Obama’s inauguration.’ Her way with words was so inspiring to us that we here at the ‘ol Free Press wrote some of our own poems about the people and issues we covered this week in the only form of poetry we know how to write: haikus.

On James Franco receiving Hasty Pudding Theatricals’ Man of the Year Award: he’s got the munchies/but couldn’t eat the pudding/he was so confused

On Late Nite Delivery to dorm rooms: seriously guys/get off your butts and walk down/for the pizza bites

On Durex’s risque ads: Thinvisible Man/and your closet friend O Girl/stop creeping us out

On in-vitro fertilization: eight babies: enough/fourteen: way too many. for/ us, zero is good

On Binghamton’s women’s basketball assistant coach: do not run on court/before the game is over/technical foul, loss

On last weekend for us at the Free Press: valentine’s haiku?/nope, not from Daily Free Press./we were all sad/drunk

We hope you are luckier in love (and more skilled in poetry) than we are this week. Until next time . . .
