Chambers to replace Wolff

Patrick Chambers, an associate head coach at Villanova University, will be the next head coach at Boston University according to a source very close to the team. Chambers was the longest-tenured member of Jay Wright’s coaching staff on the Final Four Wildcats and accumulated a 96-37 record in four years with the team. He joined ‘Nova’s staff in 2004 as director of basketball operations and then became an assistant coach in 2005 before being named an associate last September.

The job will be his first head coaching position. Chambers, 37, resides in Bryn Mawr, Penn. and graduated from Philadelphia University with a degree in marketing.

Chambers will replace Dennis Wolff, BU’s previous coach of 15 years and all-time winningest coach. No official announcement has been made by the Athletics Department but one could come as early as Wednesday.
