Crispy Crêpes Café reopening on campus

Crispy Crêpes Café will be reopening on Commonwealth Ave., directly on the Boston University Charles River Campus, according to its website.

The restaurant will occupy a space at 714 Commonwealth Ave., beginning in January 2016.

While a “for lease” sign is found at the Park Drive location, a new sign announcing the coming arrival of Crispy Crêpes Café can be found in the window of 714 Commonwealth Ave.

The restaurant formerly located in Boston University’s South Campus at 512 Park Drive announced in November that it would be finding a new location within Boston.

The café closed Oct. 31, after 13 years of service to the local neighborhood, The Daily Free Press reported Nov. 9.

Brahim Bendok, one of the owners of the restaurant, told The Daily Free Press that the restaurant closure was due to long-standing problems with the landlord at the previous location.

Bendok noted that various complaints about leaks or other building problems would go unnoticed by the landlord for long periods of time, an issue that led previous tenants of the space to leave as well.
