Uhhh, those Ugg boots! I just don’t know what to think of them, I mean really. Everyone is wearing them Ally Hilfiger on MTV’s ‘Rich Girls’ and Kate Hudson walking around L.A. in People magazine. And now, the boots have invaded Boston University some of the them with pants tucked into them, some folded down to reveal their fleecey insides. In the midst of the Ugg Boot hype, shopgirl is left puzzled.
So, for those of you who don’t know the deal is, here goes Ugg boots are from Australia and lined with sheep’s shearling. These mountain-esque boots consistently keep your feet at body temperature. They come in a variety of styles. The most popular boots right now and I mean right this second are Ugg’s Sundance and Classic styles. Selling out nationwide, these babies are hard to find. The trendy colors are wearing are Chestnut and Sand and they are frequently out of stock.
Now, I will admit I think they’re cute, and I think that Kate Hudson looks fantastic in them, but are these boots a little too starlet for us regular gals? Can the college-going lady pull off the highly Hollywood style? And what about wearing these rustic boots with dainty dresses? Do satin and silk really look good against bare legs half covered in suede and shearling? All shopgirl is gonna say is wear ’em if you feel like you can really pull them off. Honestly, I think they’re great and if you feel confident in them, you’ll look great in them.
