M. basketball drops another close one on the road

The trend of close road losses continued on Saturday night as the Boston University men’s basketball team dropped a 52-49 decision to Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.

W. basketball tries to recoup against Northeastern

Even though the Boston University women’s basketball team is still in search of its first road win of the season, it may not have to travel very far at all to get it. In fact, it will take just an 11-minute bus ride from the Terriers’ home Case Gymnasium to Solomon Court as the team visits cross-town rival Northeastern University Monday night at 7 p.m.

O’Brien, Hazell, Griffin named basketball captains

Second-year BU coach Patrick Chambers named junior forward Jake O’Brien, junior forward Patrick Hazel and junior guard Matt Griffin as the team captains for the upcoming 2009-10 season.

Transfers ’10-’11

Before every men’s basketball game this past season, three young men in suits stand under the basket while the team runs its layup line. Their names are Matt Griffin, Darryl Partin and Patrick Hazel. No, they are not coach Patrick Chambers’ assistants, even though their season of sitting on the bench has taught them many things about the game. They were the first three players Chambers invited to Boston University when he became head basketball coach. Men who had experience playing college basketball, but felt that they could find a better fit.
