Nudity, swearing and Vince Vaughn spewing out endless streams of nothing, oh my! The generous serving of these elements is the only new footage in the DVD “Uncorked” version of Wedding Crashers. The hilarity of the theatrical version is hard to top, and the longer version is overkill.
Aside from a few humorous but superfluous extra scenes putting the film eight minutes over the two hour mark — somewhere it doesn’t want to go — the uncorked version doesn’t uncork all that much. The DVD is surprisingly lacking in the extra features department, but the two commentary tracks, one with director David Dobkin and one with Vaughn and Owen Wilson, are thankful exceptions.
Though the extras aren’t great, the movie sells itself. Vaughn and Wilson are an unbeatable duo, and their comic genius and genuine likeability more than make up for anything lacking on the “uncorked” edition.
