The following reports were taken from Allston Brighton’s District 14 crime logs from Jan. 22 to Jan. 29
Officers broke up a large party at 33 Arden St. in Allston Saturday night after receiving calls the partygoers attacked a Federal Express delivery man.
Officers arrested four of the attendees including the host, Julio Santiago, 29, and owner of the house, Brian Jolly, 25, for failing to clear the party. Meredith Nadle, 23, was arrested as well for assaulting a police officer when she threw her cup of beer at one of the officers on her way out.
Earlier that evening police received a 911 call reporting a group from the party attacked a Federal Express delivery man and were chasing him through the neighborhood. When police arrived at Arden St., they found the delivery man who said residents threatened and screamed at him when he asked one of them to sign for the package he delivered.
Hearing the music blaring from down the street, the unit immediately located the house and walked in through the wide-open door. Hundreds of people were packed inside the house; one man vomited into the sink as a rock band played in the backyard. Officers later found twenty kegs of beer inside.
When officers asked Jolly and Santiago to break up the party, they refused. After threatening him with arrest, however, the owner made a “feeble” attempt at forcing people to leave.
Frustrated with Jolly and Santiago’s attempts, officers began clearing out people on their own. As Nadle left the house, she threw a cup of beer at an officer’s chest.
“OK, I’m leaving now,” she said.
Officers arrested Nadle, as well as Jolly and Santiago for disturbing the peace.
BROOKS STREET BRAWL
Police arrested two men fighting at 80 Brooks St. in Brighton early Sunday morning while attempting to break up the brawl.
Responding to a complaint, officers found Justin Folon, 18, and Joseph Green, 18, trading blows in the middle of Brooks Street
When the officers asked the two to leave, they began swearing before grudgingly agreeing to walk off.
Moments later, neighbors stopped in the middle of the street and poked their heads out the window as the two once again attacked one another. As the officers tried to shuffle both men to the sidewalk, Green swung at one of the policemen. After a brief struggle he was detained.
Green again swung and kicked at officers during the booking process.
A MESSY SITUATION
Police found a four-year-old boy wandering Kelton Street in Allston near his home after his mother left him their alone without supervision and forgot to close the door.
An officer patrolling the area noticed the boy crying as he ran into the street wearing no shoes, socks or jacket. When asked where his home was, the young boy pointed to an apartment at 244 Kelton St.
The officer walked into the apartment through the basement to find it in complete disarray. Dirty dishes overflowed in the sink and rotting food filled the refrigerator while unwashed clothes were strewn about the home.
As officers examined the house, the boy’s mother returned.
“He’s OK by himself for a little while,” she said.
Officers called in an ambulance, which brought the boy to Children’s Hospital in Allston.
