After a six-year hiatus, Sunshine Anderson has finally released her sophomore album, Sunshine at Midnight. Certain words come to mind when one thinks of sunshine: warmth, brilliance and comfort. Unfortunately, none can describe Anderson’s latest release. Sunshine delivers slow, dragging beats accompanied by Anderson’s low, husky voice. Though she has talent, it is not captured in this effort. No one ever said that love is easy and Anderson makes this clear in her song “Something I Wanna Give You.” She explains that her ex-boyfriend was only “so- so” in bed and she had to “fake more times that she can count on both of her hands.” How’s that for washing your dirty laundry in public?
