In response to The Daily Free Press staff editorial (“AB wants to oversee,” Feb. 7, p. 6), the newly proposed community service fee funding plan is exactly what it is — a proposed plan. Since the introduction of the plan to the student body, there have been growing concerns about Allocations Board’s funding control over undergraduate student organizations. AB, Student Union and Programming Council are in ongoing talks in order to clear up these concerns and negotiate compromises to make sure this new plan benefits the student body to the highest degree. This conversation is open to the entire student body as well. This Friday’s “Coffee and Conversation” and this Sunday’s Windows on BU forum is the perfect opportunity for students to attend and voice their questions, concerns and constructive ideas. We encourage everyone to attend, especially the Free Press, in order to make sure communications stay clear and consistent between the AB, SU, PC and the student body. This is the first time in a long time that the Student Union, Allocations Board and Programming Council have enthusiastically come together as a team to work to create constructive and progressive proposals for the student body — but we want to hear your constructive plans, too. Hope to see you this Friday, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Howard Thurman Center.
Sincerely,
Your Student Union Executive Board
