Honestly, what was the point of the article about SMG? A humorous look into SMG? A serious article dealing with one of the most mis-understood schools at Boston University?
In the article, you poke fun at the seriousness of SMG. The last time I checked, being serious about your education and future plans is something looked favorably by our parents who are paying $40,000 a year for college. I dont think your parents are paying 40,000 a year so you can slack off and barely get by. Its very simple, in SMG, if you aren’t serious, you will fail out and/or bring other people down. The work is incredibly demanding. The team projects are long and are graded harshly. The junior quoted in the article is probably in core or has survived core. In SMG, core is one of the most serious programs you can do. If people on your team aren’t serious, you will be hurt academically. Its like the Army, you sure as hell want the guy building the bridge across the river to be serious – and if he/she wasn’t being serious, I’d think it would be important to let someone know if the stakes are high.
And really, what is the point of telling us about peeing on the SMG building? To show your parents are pissing away their money as you laugh at people who take their education seriously? We work hard, but we also party hard as well. We just put a strong emphasis on the work hard part.
