Saturday evening, the Boston University men’s soccer team started off the season on the wrong foot, falling to Boston College, 1-0. While the score remained tied for most of the game, the Eagles caught goalkeeper Hrafn Davidsson out of the net on a cross from the right corner. The score came off a turnover near the 40 that quickly developed into a 3-on-1. Trying to draw even, the frantic Terriers mustered just one shot over the 90:00 minutes of play as careless possessions yielded unforced turnovers. Davidsson recorded seven saves on the night, while junior Jin Oh was the lone Terrier to put a shot on net. A record-setting 5,111 fans were in attendance, kicking off the “Terrier Tailgate,” which allowed incoming students and alumni to enjoy pre-game food and stay to watch the cross-town rivalry unfold.
