For a while it looked like the record-buying public may have been spared from Brooke Hogan’s debut as a recording artist. From artistic differences with record labels to disputes between the Hulk (Brooke’s father) and various record producers, shown on VH1’s Hogan Knows Best, it seemed unlikely that an album would actually materialize. Unfortunately, we weren’t so lucky and the resulting product is Undiscovered, which will hopefully remain just that with most of America. Brooke’s obnoxious, child-like voice plays with so-called “urban” tracks such as “About Us” and “My Space,” thanks to producer Scott Storch who swears Brooke Hogan is the real deal; but this comes from the man who produced Paris Hilton’s album. Brooke even ropes in Beanie Man for “Heaven Baby,” a faux reggae track that would make Bob Marley roll over in his grave. One listen to Undiscovered and you’ll be yearning for the days when Britney was around. Grade: D+
