The numbers of Boston University freshman diver Brian Lawler speak for themselves. Lawler has dominated the board in both the one-meter and the three-meter dive since competition began Oct. 22.
Over the season’s five opening weeks, Lawler has earned America East Diver of the Week three times. The freshman from San Luis Obispo, Calif. has already recorded nine wins and 10 top-3 finishes in five meets, but that isn’t his most impressive statistic.
In just his second collegiate competition, Lawler set new standards in the BU recordbooks, shattering a 25-year-old 3-meter dive record by nearly 30 points with a score of 382.05 and breaking the 2000 1-meter dive record with a 337.80 against UNH on Nov. 5.
