Is it me? Have I been living under a rock since October? It sure felt that way when I picked up the DFP on Friday to read Justin Aclin’s column “Impin’ ain’t Easy.” Apparently BU has web-based e-mail, known as Silky mail. Did anyone know about this? Had I not read Justin Aclin’s column… I would never had known. BU gets a great deal of criticism from the student body. I need not repeat the plethera of complaints that fill the paper every day. Now here is something that BU could have been proud of! Hark! No longer will you have to fiddle with the circa 1856 telnet program. Here is a fast and convenient web-based e-mail that other colleges have had for years. There was no e-mail sent to the student body, no poster publicity, no focus in the DFP, and no link on the web page. It took me a good five minutes to find the link off BU’s main web page– and it is so buried, I felt like I needed a secret map and a decoder ring. I’m not asking for much.. just for BU to focus on when they’ve done something, and done it well. So, check out this new Top Secret web-based e-mail… www.bu.edu/webmail/silkymail.
