Mark Markus made me vomit

There are two problems I have with Mark Markus as a human being: he’s the dumbest management student of all time and he also exists in another dimension of conservatism the likes of which have never been seen in the history of the world.

Let’s start with the latter of my problems; no person is expendable, expecially not for working a low-paying job. To make that kind of a statement with even the slightest conviction borders on madness. Even Pat Buchanan who is about as conservative as it gets (I believe he once wanted to build a literal wall between the US and Mexico) wouldn’t say that any American life is expendable. Proper healthcare should be a basic human right, not just for the wealthy, which is why the government should provide it and it should be a not-for-profit industry. And I don’t buy the argument that the medical profession might lose the “best and brightest” because I wouldn’t want a doctor who’s just in it for the money.

My first statement that Mad Markus is the dumbest management student ever stems from his assumption that more people buying drugs in Canada will result in higher drug prices there. I’ve only taken one economics course in my life and that was in high school but that conclusion just doesn’t even seem logical to me because if they increase the prices in Canada then where is my incentive to buy the products there. Let’s look at the example of two gas stations that are across the street from each other: gas station A sell’s gas for $1.59/gallon and gas station B for $1.57/gallon; assuming the gas is of similar quality more people will go to B. In your mind the next move would be that gas station B should jack up there prices and that’s why you should never run any business, ever. Actually, gas station A would probably go to $1.56/gallon so therefore the more likely scenerio would be that American drug prices would go down in order for them to stay competitive. But I don’t even believe that would be the case because I work for a pharmaceutical company and the drugs we export to Canadian distributors are sold for nearly the same price as to American distributors. The only reason why it’s cheaper in Canada is because the government subsidizes those prices. Also, American’s aren’t the only ones that make drugs in the world; Canada has its own pharmaceutical companies and they can probably research, develop and sell drugs for less as well, due to government assistance.

Mark, I just hope you get the proper mental healthcare that you deserve and also some tutoring, so you can get a job with benefits and don’t end up being expendable.
