Spitalfield’s third album, Better Than Knowing Where You Are, leaves the trio poised to be Victory Records’ next big bang. Spitalfield’s hook-laden harmonies and crunchy guitar riffs keep their songs in your head long after your iPod battery fails. However, there’s nothing bringing you back to hit replay. Their vague emo lyrics echo teenage angst, typical of any Warped Tour band. Still, on “Lasting First Impression” and “On The Floor,” it is obvious that the boys are flexing their rock muscles a little more robustly. With Better Than Knowing Where You Are, Spitalfield’s punky alt-rock meets pop is sure to find an audience in its own niche. Grade: C+
