City Crime Logs

The following reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton District 14 police crime logs from Jan. 26-Feb. 10.

While on patrol at Harvard and Brighton Avenues at 3:06 a.m. Feb. 10, a police officer observed a black male arguing with the employees at Redneck’s restaurant.

A Middle-Eastern man, identified as the manager, said he wanted the suspect to be removed from the restaurant around closing time after he was verbally abusive.

While there were approximately 10 customers dining, the manager told the remaining customers to leave through the Harvard Avenue side door, and they went accordingly.

The suspect continued to yell at the restaurant employees while banging his fists on the counter, claiming the restaurant would not serve him because of his race. The suspect, who may have been intoxicated, refused to leave.

The police officer tried to escort the suspect out the door, but the suspect forcefully threw a slice of pizza in the officer’s face. The officer then grabbed the suspect’s arm and took him to the cruiser.

The suspect broke free by taking off his brown coat, and he fled on foot down Harvard Avenue toward Commonwealth Avenue.

Officers on patrol witnessed the pursuit and chased the suspect and Boston University police assisted in apprehending him.

The suspect was arrested for assault and battery on a police officer.

DASTARDLY DOORMAN

At 11:57 p.m. Jan. 26, Boston police officers heard loud music resonating from the large Victorian house at 49 Gardner St. as they responded to a call to investigate a party at the residence.

When officers repeatedly knocked and rang the doorbell, they went to the back of the house, where they were greeted by one of the residents who identified himself as the “doorman” who was just “helping out” for the house party. Guide ropes commonly used at large events, theaters and nightclubs were seen inside the house.

Officers began dispersing the party, and when the house finally emptied, the police arrested four male residents of the house, all Boston University and Berklee College of Music students. The men were booked for disturbing the peace and keepers of a disorderly house.

The only alcohol police were able to locate was partially consumed beer in hundreds of red plastic cups throughout the house.

Officers found the man who claimed to be the “doorman” was actually a resident of the house as well, but he managed to escape arrest. He will be summoned to court.

CAR PROBLEMS

At 10:27 p.m. Feb. 6, a female who lent her car to her co-worker at 8:45 a.m. and had not seen it all day reported the vehicle missing.

The victim said she tried to contact the suspect repeatedly to no avail.

LAPTOP LARCENY

Upon arriving to a larceny call at 3:25 a.m. Feb. 9, police found a 22-year-old female who said her laptop computer was stolen after she and her roommates hosted a party earlier that night.

The victim said she had seen four unknown black males about 21 years old at the party. When she noticed her laptop computer was missing, so were the unidentified males. Police will continue to investigate.
