The crazy, lousy weather makes “spring” seem ages away. If you want to jumpstart straight to summer, head to Allston for traditional and international versions of classic American cuisine: barbecue.
At first glance, Greenfield Churrascaria may not be the best of the quaint and cozy restaurants lining Allston Village; the prices are high, there is usually a group of shady business men in the corner, and the atmosphere resembles rustic log cabin mixed with Home Town Buffet. But despite its appearance, Greenfield proves that a good restaurant lies in the service and the food.
Greenfield serves a full sushi bar, salad bar, fruit bar and dessert bar. As if that were not enough, every employee of Greenfield makes hungry customers feel taken care of. At your table there is a small wood cylinder colored green at one end and red at the other. If green is up, waiters will come to your table with various types of Brazilian meats that are literally dripping off the bone and onto your plate. Once you’ve had your fill of sausage, lamb, tri-tip and steak, turn your cylinder back to red before you have a heart attack.
