The following reports were taken from the Boston Police Department news blog from March 4 to March 15.
On March 6, officers responded to a report of a fight outside the Wendy’s at 530 American Legion Highway at 11:39 p.m. What the officers found when they arrived was not a fight, but a group of over 100 people and around 50 low-rider cars all parked in the Wendy’s parking lot. Two men were holding guns. When they saw the officers approaching, they ran away behind the restaurant; the police were unable to catch them. The police found someone who recorded footage of some of the cars in the parking lot drag racing, however, which led to arrests.
THE CAS ELEVATOR MENACE STRIKES AGAIN?
On March 12 at about 7:43 a.m., a woman reported that a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans grabbed her buttocks while she was walking near Quincy and Stanley Streets. The police sent out a description of the suspect and shortly thereafter, officers were able to find a person matching the description. The victim was able to identify the groper.
CLEANED OUT ON AISLE THREE
At C-Mart Supermarket at 692 Washington St., a woman reported she was checking out her groceries when a middle-aged man with a scruffy beard and a black hat stole her yellow pocketbook at about 12 p.m. on March 7. The suspect made his escape by foot. After reviewing store surveillance footage, officers were able to identify the suspect and sent out a warrant for his arrest. Three days later, the police located the alleged thief.
SUPER MARIO SAVES CASH, NOT PRINCESS
At the Super Mario Store on 3115 Washington St., officers searched the store on March 5 at 11:36 a.m. as part of an investigation into whether the outlet was selling counterfeit merchandise or not. The officers found Gucci sneakers, Timberland boots, sports jerseys, Lacoste perfume and shirts, True Religion Jeans, Juicy Couture sweats, Chanel sunglasses, North Face jackets, various hats, Polo shirts, Oakley glasses and Coach shoes &- all of which they believed to be fake.
STRIPTEASE
On March 4 at 10:49 p.m., officers found three men stripping a car in an empty lot between Bradeen Street and Fawndale Road. When officers approached the men, the suspects ran away. Police were able to catch one of the suspects, while two jumped into a car and drove away, only to be caught later. When the three men were brought in, the officers found bolts and screws from their pockets.
