The following reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton District D-14 crime logs from Sept. 21 to Sept. 28, 2011.
Out of control
An officer responded to a radio call for assistance from another BPD officer to help restrain a disorderly person at the Brighton intersection of Washington Street and Foster Street at 10:30 p.m. on Friday. The officer arrived and found the suspect, a 28-year-old white male from Brighton, verbally threatening the other officer. Officers pat frisked the suspect, who reportedly smelled of alcohol, and found a hunting knife with a six-inch blade. The suspect threatened that he was planning on killing somebody who was out to kill him. More officers arrived to assist, and the suspect continued to refuse removing his hands from his pockets. Officers put the suspect under arrest for disorderly conduct and having a dangerous weapon unlawfully carried. The suspect was later additionally charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon as well as assault and battery on a police officer for kicking one officer and striking another with his shoulders after being escorted to the station.
Myung Dong’s done wrong
On Friday at 11:30 p.m., detectives from BPD conducted an inspection at Myung Dong 1st Avenue, a Korean bar at 92 Harvard Ave. in Allston. Police approached a table of two Asian males and two Asian females in possession of alcohol and asked for their IDs. Two of the suspects in question were underage. The female, 18, and the male, 19, are both Boston University students and stated that the server did not question them for any IDs. The establishment was issued a premise violation and criminal complaint applications were filed on both the minors.
Whose line is it anyway?
At 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, two officers responded to a call at 458 Western Ave. in Brighton reporting drug activity. Upon arrival, the victim, a white male, 39, said the suspect was “doing lines” in the bathroom of The Boyne Pub. The victim said that when he confronted the suspect doing drugs, he got angry and said “keep your mouth shut, or I’ll kill you.” When officers spoke to the suspect, a white 47-year-old male, the suspect said that the opposite happened. He said he was simply in the restroom when the above male entered, grabbed him by the neck and raised his fist in a threatening manner. Officers deemed all parties intoxicated.
A clean shave
On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., officers responded to a call regarding a shoplifting report at the Star Market at 1065 Commonwealth Ave. in Allston. Officers met with the manager who stated he and the staff caught a shoplifter attempting to steal $327.37 worth of Gillette shaving razors and razorblades. The suspect, a 33-year-old male wearing silver shorts, a black jacket and a white T-shirt stuffed the items down the front of his jacket. Management stopped the man before exiting, recovered the items and found that he had no cash or credit cards on his person to pay for the items. Police said the suspect was cooperative and was released upon police arrival.
For America
Boston Police arrived at 173 Brighton Ave. at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday along with the Boston University Police Department to retain a disorderly person. Policed observed a 26-year-old male running in and out of traffic. When approached and asked of his actions, the suspect became increasingly agitated with the police stating that “he did nothing wrong,” that he too is an American and that he is upset with the current condition of the country. He poked officers and told them to “Go f— yourself!” Upon refusing to show an ID, officers arrested the suspect and obtained his ID for report and complaint purposes.
