City Crime Logs: Sept. 11-12

The following crime reports were taken from the Boston Police Department crime logs from Sept. 11-12.

Tree vandalized in Brighton

At 1:06 p.m. on Monday, officers received a report that an unknown male suspect had cut down several branches off a City of Boston tree on a public sidewalk in Brighton. The suspect was in his driveway with the branches and admitted that he had cut them down, according to the report.

Biker hit by motor vehicle on Babcock Street

At about 6:15 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a radio call that a person on a bike was struck by a motor vehicle on Commonwealth Avenue. The victim, a 20-year-old male, was attempting to cross Babcock Street while riding his bike and was struck by a silver Mercedes-Benz while the car was taking a right turn. After colliding with the victim, the driver then continued down Babcock Street toward Brookline. The victim was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Officers searched for the vehicle but could not locate the car or the suspect.

Emotionally-disturbed person reported in Allston

Officers responded to a call for an emotionally disturbed person on Commonwealth Avenue in Allston at 9:01 a.m. on Tuesday. Upon arrival, the officers and Boston Emergency Medical Services found the victim, who had reportedly not taken his medication and was sitting in a chair talking to himself. Officers spoke with the victim who appeared lucid and declined medical attention. The victim stated that he had taken his medication but his parents called the police regardless. There were no verbal or physical threats made by the victim.
