City Crime Logs: Oct. 23 – 24

The following crime reports were taken from the Boston Police Department crime logs from Oct. 23 to Oct. 24.

Embezzlement reported at Braintree Realty Trust

An officer filed an embezzlement claim at 119 Braintree St. on Monday at 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, a director for the company stated a former employee took over $31,000 through several gift cards. The suspect started removing funds in November 2016 by purchasing gift cards from American Express, Macy’s and Amazon, removed $1,000 from a Visa debit card under the office account and added $10,000 worth of hours to his own payroll for the past month. The suspect was terminated from his position Oct. 12.

 Drug overdose in Brighton

Officers responded to a drug overdose at 11 Gorham St. on Tuesday at 12:10 a.m. Upon arrival, an officer observed the victim inside the bathroom, lying flat on his back on the floor unresponsive. The victim could not be resuscitated and was transported to the medical examiner. A cell phone and an opened bag full of brown powder was seized as evidence.

Suicide attempt in Allston

Officers arrived 75 Allston St. on Tuesday at 4:26 a.m. for a well-being check. Upon arrival, officers spoke to an individual who stated the victim wasn’t sleeping due to stress. They stated the victim had made statements about hurting themself. The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center for evaluation.
