Campus Crime Logs: Sept. 23-26

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department’s crime logs from Sept. 23 to Sept. 28.

Other service request at 700 Commonwealth Ave. 

At 12:47 a.m. on Sept. 23, a caller reported being chased into the building by “a party with masks on.” 

Lost and found service at 700 Commonwealth Ave. 

At 4:46 p.m. on Sept. 23, an officer found a cut lock next to an unsecured scooter. Another officer picked the scooter up to secure it.

Assist with directions at 725 Commonwealth Ave.

At 5:55 p.m. on Sept. 23, a caller reported money left on the windshield when they came back to their vehicle. The caller said they were concerned because they did not feel like this was normal behavior. 

Larceny under $1200 at 871 Commonwealth Ave.

At 5:08 p.m. on Sept. 24, a party walked into the BUPD station to report that their scooter was stolen from the front of the College of General Studies. 

Bicyclist struck at 855 Commonwealth Ave.

At 5:32 p.m. on Sept. 24, an officer reported a collision between a cyclist and a scooter to the Boston Fire Department and Boston Police Department. No BU affiliates were involved. BPD was on the scene and handled the incident on the sidewalk. 

Elevator entrapment at 8 St. Mary’s St.

At 5:59 p.m. on Sept. 24, a caller reported a party stuck in the elevator. 

Shoplifting by asportation at 910 Commonwealth Ave. 

At 10:51 a.m. on Sept. 25, a female party reported that a woman in her 50s wearing gray sweatpants, a white ball cap and no shoes stole a sweatshirt and water bottle from the BU Campus Store. The suspect created a ruckus. One female is in custody. 

Suspicious person at 665 Commonwealth Ave.

At 12:42 p.m. on Sept. 25, a caller reported two males handing out “‘homophobic’ business cards.” 

Hazardous condition at 100 Bay State Rd. 

At 10:50 p.m. on Sept. 25, a caller reported an odor of natural gas at Marciano Dining Hall. BU Facilities was notified and stated that the gas company is aware of the issue and has a gas monitor on the light post across the street. 

Hazardous condition at 775 Commonwealth Ave.

At 6:19 a.m. on Sept. 26, a BU Facilities worker noticed a couple of needles under a bench. An officer properly disposed of them. 

Medical at 24 Cummington Mall

At 2:44 p.m. on Sept. 26, a caller said their professor collapsed while teaching. Officers were dispatched and Boston Emergency Medical Services were contacted and responded. 

Hit pedestrian at 879 Beacon St. 

At 8:44 p.m. on Sept. 26, a pedestrian was struck. BFD, BPD and EMS were on the scene.
