The Cambridge Public Library and Harvard Book Store are collaborating to host a talk with Emily Austin, bestselling author of Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead. The conversation will be held two days after the release of her new novel, We Could Be Rats, a story of two reconnecting sisters and “a celebration of that transcendent, unshakable bond,” according to the book’s summary. Kimm Topping, a Harvard Lecturer, will join Austin in the talk. Admission is free with RSVP, with copies of the book available for purchase at the event for a signing.
Mass Poetry Youth Fundraiser

Watch teen poetry performances over in Dorchester to support Mass Poetry’s Road to Brave New Voices Fundraiser at its kickoff event. The paddle bid fundraiser helps send Mass Poetry’s Youth Slam Team to the annual Brave New Voices Festival, the “biggest youth poetry festival of its kind,” according to the website.
