Let’s Get Real
In response to the recent articles regarding the Mid-East conflict, I would like to say; don’t you people realize that both sides are wrong? Both sides are belligerent warring factions that would love nothing more than to the see the other side beaten into submission. As for the political views of the writers, Mr. Baram, Mr. Figa, and Mr. Gallagher, Dana Chodos said it best, “All three neglect the views of the other side.” So, why is it then that is such a common problem amongst people’s opinions today? Simple, the circumstances surrounding the conflict have escalated into this complicated mess of each faction trying to prove that they signify the righteous side.
However, if you take away all their guns and bombs and throw out all of their religious and cultural claims to the territory, they boil down to nothing more than a couple children fighting over a “toy” with nothing more to say to each other than, “You are a doody-head,” and “No! you are!” Ladies and Gentlemen, as you all know, this kind of behavior is just preposterous and, quite frankly, immature. So, how do adults take care of situations like this? They take away the toy and sit them in their own respective corners. What am I getting at you might ask? I say we (the world community) issue the both of them an ultimatum to hug and make-up or get sent packing. Since nearly 65% of the world has some religious interest in the area, shouldn’t it be a demilitarized, non-political zone that people of all religions can come to worship freely?
In regards to the letter, Fight Terror with Terror?, of Mr. Figa, you should have more respect for other’s opinions and offer constructive and intelligent criticism, not a brutal diatribe filled cynicism and propaganda. And, shame on all the writers for trying to pull on people’s emotional heartstrings rather than offering objective opinions that people could judge from an unbiased perspective.
