The fine work done by head coach Brian Durocher, his assistants and the players on the roster led to a promising start for the Boston University women’s hockey team in its inaugural campaign last year.
And don’t think people haven’t noticed.
Their laborious efforts paid off yesterday when the Terriers inked their first-ever transfer, junior defenseman Julie Poulin from the University of Maine.
Poulin, who will join the program this fall, was an honorable mention for the Hockey East All-Star team last year. Her 25 points placed her second on the Black Bears and her 18 assists were the most on the team.
A native of Beauceville, Quebec, Poulin finished with 7-18-25 totals last season in 31 games. She fired a team-high 109 shots and finished with a +/- rating of +3.
“Julie’s success on the ice and in the classroom will be an asset to our young program,” Durocher told the BU athletics website. “Her accomplishments at the college level will make her an immediate leader on our squad.”
