The following reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton District 14 police crime logs from Jan. 28-Feb. 4.
A Boston University student reported seeing an image in the snow at 7 a.m. Jan. 31 that she thought was relevant to an ongoing police investigation on a bomb threat that day. The witness looked out her apartment window overlooking Nickerson Field and saw a neatly shoveled figure about 25 yards long in the center of the field. She reported recognizing the cartoon profile from the television show Aqua Teen Hunger Force on Cartoon Network.
Another witness said she thought it was cool and told an officer she would email him a photo she took of the image with her digital camera.
HARVARD AVE. CARTOON
Police responded to a report of a suspicious device about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 31 attached to the side of a building at 131 Harvard Ave. Upon arrival, officers observed a printed circuit display board attached to the façade of the building. Members of the bomb squad examined the device, which resembled several other devices found throughout the city that day, and found it to be free of explosives.
SIDEWALK STOP
An officer responded to a report of an armed robbery at around 5 p.m. Jan. 31 on the corner of Ashford and Chester Streets. Two victims reported a suspect, whom they described as a white male, about 6-foot-1-inch and of stocky build wearing a hooded sweatshirt and black half-ski mask, approached them and asked for directions. When he came closer, the victims said he brandished a handgun and demanded their wallets. The victims complied and said the suspect told them to turn around and not look back or they would be shot. The suspect escaped on foot down Ashford Street toward the BU campus.
ANGER MANAGEMENT
An officer responded to a report at 2:20 a.m. Feb. 4 of a suspect threatening employees at a tow yard at 25 Goodenough St. The owner of a gray Ford Mustang retrieved and paid for his vehicle but continued to yell and wave his arms at employees. When the suspect drew a handgun, the man’s two friends pushed him into the car and drove away from the scene. Officers searched the area to no avail.
Twenty-five minutes later, officers returned to gather information on the incident and the manager reported men were fighting inside. An officer announced himself and the suspect grabbed him by the throat and shoved him backward. The suspect was handcuffed and continued to struggle all the way to his cell.
CARELESS CABBIE
An officer responded to a call at Packard’s Corner at 2:15 a.m. Feb. 4 from a student who reported a hit-and-run. As the victim was exiting a cab with her two friends, the driver reportedly hit the gas, throwing her to the ground rolling. The driver stopped and claimed he did nothing wrong before leaving the scene, according to the victim.
The victim had abrasions on her hands and knees but refused immediate medical attention.
