n The reality of global warming is pretty clear to most by now, unless you live in a Cold War-era fall out shelter a la Blast From the Past.
For those of you who are a) freaking out and hiding in your microfridge or b) totally enthused about fighting the fight articulated by former President Al Gore in An Inconvient Truth, the Environmental Student Organization is asking for your help.
We are proposing an optional $10 per semester fee that would go toward buying renewable energy. This “green fee” is an opportunity for our university to lead the nation in the fight to stop global warming. We need a clean energy policy on our campus, and we have the power to make that happen.
ESO members will be passing around petitions in class to sign and show support for this initiative to decrease Boston University’s negative environmental impact and make the campus more sustainable.
Additionally, we will be coming by your dorms and tabling in the GSU and outside the Warren Dining Hall with these petitions this Wednesday and Thursday. To conclude this week of Earth-lovin’, stop by Earth Day at Marsh Plaza on Friday April 20 where petitions will be available along with fun food, music and festivities.
So please, kind, worldly BU students, help our university take this first step. Spread the word and sign a petition.
