The following were taken from the Boston Police Department’s District 14 (Allston-Brighton) crime logs for the week of Oct. 13 through Oct. 20.
Officers responded to a holdup alarm at Sovereign Bank at 30 Birmingham Parkway around 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 14.
A bank teller told police that a white male in his early 20s with short hair and light facial hair, wearing a dark windbreaker, blue jeans and a Red Sox visor, entered the bank and handed her a note demanding money.
The suspect reportedly told the teller to ‘hurry up,’ and fled the bank on foot. Police later found the Red Sox visor in the vicinity of the bank. The suspect is still at large.
Police responded to a robbery at Fleet Bank at 350 Chestnut Hill Ave. around 2:10 p.m. on Oct. 16. A teller told police that a white, clean-shaven male wearing a black baseball cap and black hooded sweatshirt with white lettering showed her a note demanding money that said he had a gun.
The suspect then fled in an unknown direction, the teller said. A Brookline Police officer later stopped an inbound train at 1668 Commonwealth Ave. and removed a man matching the suspect’s description. However, the bank teller told police the man removed from the train was not the suspect, who is still at large.
A white male brandishing a pipe wrench stole an undetermined amount of cash from the Oak Square Sunoco at 602 Washington St. at around 8:50 p.m. Sunday. According to police records, the suspect entered the station holding the pipe wrench, ordered the clerk to open the cash drawer, then put the wrench under his shirt and took the money. The suspect then fled the area.
TIMBER!
An Allston man suffered massive back, chest and pelvic trauma and broke his left leg on Oct. 15 after a 40-foot dead tree fell on top of him. According to police records, high winds caused the tree trunk to break off approximately five feet above the ground and fall on top of his neighbor’s garage, where he was trimming branches.
Police and fire officials responded to 17 Ashford St., the scene of the incident, where they found the man unconscious and removed the tree using two power saws. The victim was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
DISTURBING THE PEACE
Police arrested Mugisha Feruzi, 29, of Dorchester, around 2:50 a.m. last Friday morning on charges of disturbing the peace. An employee of Stadium Towing at 305 Western Ave. told police that Feruzi was accompanying another 31-year-old male who refused to pay the fee for his towed vehicle and refused to leave the premises.
Police spoke to Feruzi’s accomplice outside the Stadium Towing office, and both men allegedly became hostile toward officers, shouting at them as police tried to explain the procedure to pay the fee for the towed car.
Officers then told Feruzi to leave the scene. He proceeded down Western Avenue and began screaming, then allegedly walked into the middle of the street, continuing to scream and obstructing traffic. Officers then arrested Feruzi, who police say was belligerent throughout the booking process.
