The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from April 8 to April 18.
Boston University Police Department responded to a call about a break-in at 610 Beacon St. at 7 a.m. on April 18. A male student reported that another male student entered his suite. The student said he did not have his glasses on and could not see the other man, so he asked who was there. The intruder replied, “Surprise!” and left the suite without taking anything.
SWEET TOOTH
A caller reported a shoplifter at 275 Babcock St. at 7:40 p.m. on April 8. The caller reported that an unidentified suspect was seen stealing candy from the City Convenience store in West Campus.
DINING DISSERVICE
A caller reported that her wallet was stolen from the West Campus dining hall at 275 Babcock St. at 6 p.m. on April 11. The student said she left her wallet in her backpack at a table in the dining hall when she left it to get food. She returned to find her wallet missing.
E-VASE-IVE ACTION
BUPD received a call about a theft at 928 Commonwealth Ave. at 3:40 p.m. on April 18. The caller said a large, maroon vase (estimated to cost $250) holding flowers was stolen from the lobby of the School of Hospitality Administration.
TEXTUAL RANSOM
A student reported that her cell phone was stolen at 10 p.m. on April 11. The caller said she accidentally left her phone on the BU Shuttle that evening, and later texted her phone to see if anyone would respond. She said someone texted her back using profanities and also said, “You won’t get this phone back.”
WRONG COMBINATION
BUPD responded to a burglary at 775 Commonwealth Ave. at 8:30 a.m. on April 9. An employee at the George Sherman Union reported that her BU ID and numerous credit cards were stolen from a locker room in the building.
