Campus Crime Logs: Gleeful Larceny

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from April 25 to May 1.

On April 25 at 11 a.m. a female student reported that while she was singing during choir practice at Marsh Chapel, her backpack was stolen from the church. It contained items including her cell phone, her iPod and her keys.

 

Car-ma’s a bitch

A non-affiliated male parked his car on Beacon Street on April 25 from about 5 to 11 p.m. Upon his return, he called the BUPD because someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen his backpack and his clothing.

Pushing and shoving

A female student reported to BUPD on April 26 at 2 p.m. that at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at 471 Memorial Drive she had been pushed by a male who then threatened her on Facebook.

 

Phone home

On April 27 at 9:30 a.m. a female student reported that her cell phone was stolen from Mugar Library at some point between April 23 and 27.

 

Unwanted peep show

At 7:45 p.m. on April 27 two female students said that they were walking westbound on Comm. Ave. outside of Agganis Arena when a male in his 40s who was walking by exposed himself.

 

Who’s the boss?

BUPD was notified on April 28 at 9:30 a.m. that the side of the building at 771 Comm. Ave. had been defaced. Apparently someone spray painted a black male in a tuxedo onto the wall with an inscription that said, “Boss.”

 

Santa came late this year

At the Hotel Commonwealth on April 28 at 11:30 a.m. security staff contacted BUPD to inform them that a package, addressed to an unknown person, was received. It contained small amounts of illegal drugs.

 

Yo, I got a fake ID though

A male student was stopped outside of 1079 Comm. Ave. on April 29 for appearing intoxicated. However, when asked to show a form of identification, the student produced fake identification and was arrested for being in possession of a fraudulent license.

Wanted: Travis the Tractor

A male employee called BUPD on April 29 at 10 a.m. to report that his vehicle was damaged by a tractor-trailer outside of Student Village I. No one was injured.

Shut up and drive

BUPD assisted the Boston Police Department in citing a BU Shuttle driver for several moving violations for driving erratically at 12:30 a.m. on April 30.
