City Crime Logs: Robbed Rob

The following reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton District D-14 crime logs from Oct. 19 to Oct. 25, 2011.

Robbed Bob

Last Thursday at about 2 p.m., a male student notified police after he returned home that several things were missing from his residence at 1288 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton. The victim, a 20-year-old student, said he believes someone entered his front door after his roommates left it unlocked. Officers observed no sign of forced entry and the victim suspects that the items were stolen between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. that day. Missing from the apartment was an Xbox, a Swiss Army watch, an iTouch, an autographed photo of Bobby Orr valued at about $350 and other items.

To the window…

A female reported last Friday at 8 p.m. from 189 Chestnut Hill Ave. in Brighton that her home had been broken into while she and her roommate were gone for the day. When police arrived to investigate, they observed smudges on the rear windowsill in the kitchen. The window was unlocked, and police suspect that the burglar entered from there. The victims, both females ages 26 and 24, were missing a Dell laptop, various purses and wallets, a cellphone, jewelry and credit cards.

Animal house

On Saturday at 1 a.m., officers responded to a radio call regarding a loud party at 34 Brainerd Rd. in Allston. Upon arrival, officers observed a large group and numerous bottles and cans of beers on the front porch. An officer approached the door to tell the resident that the party was too loud. A suspect, a 49-year-old male, slammed the door on the officer’s shoulder and said, “I’m not letting you in . . . you don’t have a warrant!” The suspect was placed under arrest for assault and battery on a police officer. Upon leaving, officers observed graffiti that said “POLICE STATE . . . F— OFF!” The resident eventually handed police his ID. The 25-year-old male owner of the house was issued a violation for disturbing the peace and will be summoned to Brighton District Court for being keeper of a disorderly house.

No wonder

At 2:45 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of vandalism at Wonder Bar at 186 Harvard Ave. in Allston. The female who reported the vandalism said that a man approached the closed club to retrieve his cell phone. When she told him he could not re-enter by law until the next day, he became angry and kicked the front door of the club, breaking the glass and the frame. Officers arrived and found the suspect still at the scene, and he was arrested for malicious destruction of property over $250. Police said that the suspect was too intoxicated to realize his cellphone was actually in his front pocket the entire time.

Jumped and stumped

Police responded to a radio call regarding an attempted robbery at the corner of Malvern Street and Ashford Street in Allston at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. The victim, a 46-year-old male working as a researcher, said he was jumped from behind, pushed to the ground and kicked as suspects demanded money from him. Two witnesses, both female students, told police that there were two suspects. The witnesses described the suspects as 21-year-old black males wearing sweatshirts and jeans. The witnesses and the victim all said that the suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction when a taxi approached the scene. The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
