The Society of Professional Journalists honored The Daily Free Press with one of its Region 1 Mark of Excellence Awards on Saturday at Stony Brook University during its annual Region 1 Conference.
The Free Press was presented the third place award for best non-daily college newspaper at a four-year college or university by SPJ President John Ensslin.
