A/B CRIME LOG: Brighton Man Robbed

The following are taken from the Allston-Brighton crime logs.

ASSAULT

An unknown suspect allegedly assaulted and attempted to rob two Brighton sisters while they walked to Lee’s Variety Store on Commonwealth Avenue on the evening of Jan. 3.

According to the report, the suspect approached the two girls and demanded money from them. After the victims refused to give him any, the suspect allegedly placed his hand in his coat pocket to imply that he had a gun.

The suspect, a black male in his late 20s, reportedly chased the victims into a housing development before fleeing the scene.

The victims called the police after reporting the incident to their father.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Police arrested a Hingham man who allegedly threatened violence against a police officer early on Jan. 6.

Two friends of Brian Cushing, 22, of 1 Chatam Circle, reportedly approached the police officers, saying Cushing was screaming and out of control.

When the police escorted Cushing out of 45 Chestnuthill Ave., Cushing reportedly became more irritated and threatened to cut the officers’ face if they did not leave him alone. According to the report, Cushing refused to leave the building and was verbally abusive.

Police arrested Cushing for disturbing the peace.

ROBBERY

A Waltham woman found her apartment vandalized and trashed after an unknown suspect allegedly posing as a FBI agent entered her apartment building on the night of Dec. 8.

According to the report, the building’s superintendent told the victim the suspect entered into 121 Tremont St. and had a set of keys to the woman’s apartment.

The victim reportedly found several household items destroyed and the apartment completely trashed.

SNOWBALLED

Police arrived early Dec. 9 after a number of a Brighton student was reportedly chased by a group of males who accused him of hitting their Lexus SUV with a snowball.

The student told police he was having a snowball fight with a few girls when 4 to 5 men confronted him for allegedly throwing snow at their car.

The student and his friends reportedly ran into his apartment as the suspects chased them inside. The suspects allegedly threatened to return after kicking and damaging the top half of the apartment door, when the student called the police.

Officers advised the victims to call 911 if the suspects returned.

ASSAULT ‘ ROBBERY

Two Allston residents suffered injuries to the head after a number of male teenagers allegedly assaulted and robbed the victims while crossing a footbridge near Harvard Avenue on Dec. 8.

According to the report, the man and woman were walking toward Harvard Avenue when four or five teenagers approached and separated the two.

The victims said the suspects took their wallets and repeatedly asked for their cell phones. The suspects then reportedly punched both victims continuously in the head, causing the man to bleed from his nose and lips and suffer from a headache.

Reportedly stolen with the man’s wallet were three ATM cards, two credit cards and $10.00 in cash, while the woman reportedly lost a credit card, a debit card and about $20.00 in cash.

The two victims walked to Herrel’s Ice Cream Place and called the police after the incident.
