Men’s basketball falters in second half once again, this time against Holy Cross

Women’s basketball drops Turnpike Trophy contest to Holy Cross, 61-50

The last time the Boston University women’s basketball team faced College of the Holy Cross, the Crusaders ended BU’s dreams of making the NCAA tournament in heartbreaking fashion in the Patriot League Finals. Holy Cross (14-6, 8-1 Patriot League) proved once again to be a hurdle the Terriers (13-7, 5-4 PL) could not clear. BU lost the Turnpike Trophy matchup 61-50 on Monday afternoon.

Basketball teams begin conference play during intersession, hockey resumes on Jan. 3

Winter break is just around the corner, but some Terriers are not going to be taking too much time for themselves. The men’s and women’s basketball and hockey teams all have a full slate of games, including plenty of in-conference play. Each team has different expectations for the back half of their seasons, as the men’s hockey and women’s basketball teams are under particular pressure due to their postseason success last season, but all the teams have plenty of exciting games on their schedules. Here are some to keep an eye on.

Men’s basketball crushes Sacred Heart to secure first road win of the season

The Boston University men’s basketball team pulled away in the second half against Sacred Heart University on Saturday, outscoring its opponents by 20 en route to a 70-49 victory away from home. In the first-ever meeting between the two teams, the Terriers (3-5) cruised to a win thanks in part to 33 total points off the bench.
