Student body elects Build BU over BUnited for SG

After a week of open polls, the Boston University student body elected Build BU to be next year’s Student Government executive board. SG representatives and the Student Election Commission convened for a dinner Tuesday night for the announcement of the winning slate.

Graduate students bring Grand Business Challenge title to BU for first time in 14 years

A team of graduate students from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business won the first-place prize of $25,000 in The Grand Business Challenge in Digital Health last Friday.

Individual advising underway for transitioning Wheelock students

Starting in the fall of 2018, Wheelock College students will transition into the Boston University community as part of a merger announced in in October. In order to make the transition process go smoothly, BU and Wheelock faculty members are providing specialized academic advising to transitioning Wheelock students.

Controversial CO201 assignment sparks conversation

A wave of controversy erupted Thursday afternoon following the announcement that a writing professor’s memoir assignment was being canceled by the Boston University College of Communication administration in light of complaints regarding the nature of the prompt.

Pardee Center partners with Beijing Normal University for research, resource collaborations

In an effort to share resources and collaborate on upcoming research projects, Boston University's Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future has established a partnership with Beijing Normal University. The two institutions will focus on interdisciplinary research with the goal of learning about the problems of the future and the ways in which they should be managed.

Writing on the Body campaign aimed at empowering women

SG discusses allocation of its $15,000 Cabinet budget

Boston University’s Student Government noted in last Monday’s meeting that roughly $15,000 of their remaining budget of $21,257.41 is reserved for Cabinet events. The funding of these events is meant to foster a greater sense of community on campus and empower student groups to fulfill their missions.

BU graduate schools move up in USNWR rankings

Several Boston University schools have risen in the U.S. News and World Report annual national graduate school rankings, which were released Tuesday. The Questrom School of Business, the School of Medicine, the School of Education, the School of Social Work and the School of Law all rose in rank.

Concerns raised over Yawkey Center’s name as decision to rename Yawkey Way looms

Efforts to rename Yawkey Way, a street along the Boston Red Sox’s Fenway Park, have raised questions at Boston University about whether the Yawkey Center for Student Services should also be renamed.
