5-Minute Major: Utah Hockey Club branding needs to be good because the names aren’t

Utah Hockey Club is finally getting a name. Smith Entertainment Group, owners of the Utah Jazz, acquired majority ownership rights to the NHL team back in April 2024. The news came after a few months of speculation that Ryan Smith, SEG chairman, wanted a team in Utah, and that team would be the now-defunct Arizona Coyotes.

Women’s lacrosse confident in rebound after last-place finish in 2024

This season, women’s lacrosse is looking to bounce back. After going 5-11 last year and just 1-8 in conference play, they took a step back from improvement seen in 2023, a year in which they saw their best record since head coach Lauren Morton’s first season in 2019.

Thanks to efforts from the Campus Planning & Operations team, much of the BU campus has been given, or is actively receiving, a makeover. The NHL’s nation-based tournament is not the Olympics, and it isn’t really an all-star game either. Instead of the typical all-star format used by nearly every other professional sports league, the NHL opted to create the 4 Nations Face-Off, featuring teams of players from Canada, the United States, Finland and Sweden.
