I was disappointed to find no mention in Monday’s Daily Free Press of the Annual Greek Barbecue held this past Sunday, on the College of Communication lawn. The Greek BBQ was a large event this year, bringing out all of the Greek organizations, many Boston University administrators and staff and underclassmen interested in joining the Greek community. With a radio station, free food and many vendors giving out free products, not to mention close to 1,000 people in attendance, this was not an event that should go unnoticed by BU students. It seems irresponsible to me that the Free Press would not cover such a large event at BU, especially one that is held annually.
The Greek community is working extremely hard to maintain a bigger presence on campus, to reach out to the community and to show its enthusiasm and unity. With negligent coverage by the Free Press, our hard work is not being recognized appropriately. Please give Greek organizations the recognition we deserve in the future by covering our positive and enthusiastic efforts around campus.
