The following reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton District D-14 crime logs from Sept. 24-30.
Around 3:40 a.m. on Sept. 29, officers responded to an assault and battery on Linden Street in Allston.
The victim and his roommate explained to police they were hosting a small party with a few friends. They said the door was closed, but not locked, when three suspects entered the residence without knocking or identifying themselves.
The victims reported that the three suspects, who said they were BC students, began to bash Boston University after learning the residents attended BU. The victims reported the suspects knew little about either school. The unknown suspects then punched one resident, who later declined medical attention.
The suspects fled toward Brighton Avenue but were not caught.
CARELESS CHEMIST AT CHESTNUT HILL
Around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, a Boston College graduate student conducting an experiment in a BC laboratory discarded a small amount of iron-chloride into a trashcan.
The corrosive chemical began a chemical reaction in the trash. The student then left the lab area and notified officials who secured the lab and evacuated the building. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he received treatment and was evaluated further.
The lab was secured until it was properly cleaned up and the physics department staff completed disposal of all hazardous waste.
Won’t you be my neighbor?
Just after 2 a.m. on Sept. 27, officers responded to vandalism in progress on Gardner Street. A BU student reported his neighbors forced their way into his apartment to fight him and his roommates.
Officers spoke with the next-door neighbors, who claimed they had no idea what the officer was talking about and denied their neighbor’s accusations. Eventually, the neighbor stated that someone from the second floor balcony in the victim’s apartment was making rude comments to his friends as they walked by on their way home.
Though the victim said the suspect and his group of friends damaged his apartment, the suspect claimed his group was allowed into the apartment and went upstairs to confront the victim, but were forced out. The suspect said that as he and his group were leaving, a member of the house slammed the door, breaking a windowpane
The victims said they would not press charges at this time. Instead, the victims said they would talk to their landlord and potentially press charges later. Both parties were instructed to stay away from each other.
Wrong place, wrong time
Just after 2 a.m. on Sept. 28, police officers were called to the scene of a stabbing on Commonwealth Avenue in Allston. While officers roped off the area, a suspect refused to leave the inside perimeter of the crime scene.
The suspect, a 26-year-old BU student, appeared to be intoxicated. When officers attempted to escort the suspect out of the area, he laughed and told the officers he was free to remain there.
After several attempts to convince him to leave the crime scene failed, the officers arrested the suspect. Onlookers from a nearby bar watched the action as the suspect was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.
