There has been a great outpouring of hate in response to Brian Fudge’s column. As you read this, keep in mind that I do not believe a single word of what he writes and completely disagree with him. But there is no reason to cut him from your limited pages. What he writes is hilarious because it is so far right that you cannot take him seriously. And what is even funnier than Fudge are the hate letters imploring you to get rid of him.
He is basically a Boston University Stephen Colbert (for those of you who may live under a rock, Colbert is a late-night Comedy Central news talk show host who plays an extremely conservative character and spoofs politics). They both, whether it be indirectly or on purpose, show us that you cannot take everything someone says too seriously or you will wind up a very bitter person, angry at the world the rest of your life. So, make your life easier and stop picking on Fudge. Regardless of what you write about him, he will not change his views even if silenced. The world will be the same, except with one less funny thing. So, please just sit back and have a good chuckle, because there isn’t too much left in this poor world to laugh at. Oh, and vote Stephen Colbert for President.
