Jan. 14 — Effective immediately, the Boston University men’s hockey team will be reinstating senior forward Brian McGuirk as the team’s captain.
McGuirk, who was suspended and stripped of his captaincy Dec. 5, will be getting his “C” back and will join Pete MacArthur as captain. The two will serve as co-captains for the remainder of the season.
McGuirk was a unanimous choice for captain, as voted by the players, at the end of last season.
MacArthur was appointed captain by head coach Jack Parker following the suspension of McGuirk along with seniors Bryan Ewing and Dan McGoff and junior Brandon Yip for a violation of team rules. The suspended players rejoined the team for the Dec. 30 game against Merrimack College.
