In 2005, Miami-bred foursome Pretty Ricky made a name for itself thanks to the hits “Grind With Me” and “Your Body.” It returns this year with its sophomore effort, Late Night Special. On the catchy lead single, “On The Hotline,” the four brothers pick up where they left off; smooth vocals and slick harmonies glide effortlessly over a mid-tempo, urban beat. The song, like previous Pretty Ricky singles, is an ode to sex and even samples Salt-n- Pepa’s “Let’s Talk About Sex.” Sex continues to be a prominent theme on the album. On “Love Like Honey,” the brothers declare, “Your love’s like ice cream/creamy and slow.” The album drags on with more racy slow jams such as “Stay” and “Up and Down.” While the oversexed crooning might work for one hit single, eleven tracks of this nature may jeopardize the Rickys’ chances for any future late night specials.
