The following reports were taken from Allston-Brighton’s District 14 crime logs from September 5 to September 11.
At 10 a.m. Friday morning, 69-year-old Anna Chudnovskaya of Brighton arrived at the District 14 Police Station and stated she had discovered a gun near a walkway behind Brighton High School.
Her husband, 74-year-old Semyon Chudnovsky, guarded the location. Chudnovskaya explained she had found a strange black plastic bag concealed beneath rocks that she used to exercise each morning near the walkway. She said she was suspicious because the bag was not there the previous day.
Upon opening the bag she discovered a Cobra .380 handgun.
A sergeant and detectives responded to the scene and informed school police.
At 2 p.m., the officers returned to the area, placed a small stone inside the bag as a decoy and replaced it among the rocks. Soon after, a young male exited the school and walked to the location.
Officers observed him searching for the bag and confronted him as he walked back toward the school. When questioned on his reason for entering the walkway where the gun had been concealed the suspect responded, “I was taking a piss.”
When officers returned to the scene they found the rocks moved, the bag uncovered and the rock removed from the bag as well as no sign or smell of urine. The suspect, a student at Brighton High School, will be charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
WRONG SIDE OF THE LAW
Officers responded to the call of an angry resident of Chester Street Friday at 12:05 a.m. Neighbors of 35 Chester St. complained about loud music blaring from the house, and when the officers arrived, they discovered a large group of people drinking alcohol on the front porch and in the street outside the house.
When partygoers failed to lower the music’s volume and vacate the area, the officers spoke to a 22-year-old Berklee College of Music student, one of the house’s tenants. After another attempt at dispersing the party failed, he and a 22-year-old Boston University Law School student were arrested for disturbing the peace and keeping a disorderly house. Police also received a complaint about 35 Chester St. the previous night.
SHAW’S SKIRMISH
At 6:41 Saturday evening a 19-year-old School of Management sophomore entered Shaw’s Supermarket and located another SMG sophomore. The 19-year-old suspect then punched the victim in the face numerous times with a closed fist and spit in his face before leaving prior to the arrival of Officer Paul Perry.
The two BU sophomores know each other and were locked in a dispute over money.
The victim was advised to inform the Boston University Police Department and bring the issue to Brighton District Court.
‘p-station’
At 1:00 Saturday morning, officers driving past the District 14 police station on their way to an earlier incident noticed a man urinating on the police station building.
The station is well lit each night, and has a sign on the front wall and one on the awning above the main entrance which both read ‘Police Station.’ The suspect, identified as a 19-year-old male– booked just weeks earlier at District 14 — was aware that the building was indeed a police station.
The act, performed in clear view of pedestrians and cars driving by, created a public annoyance and a physically offensive condition, earning the suspect a Disorderly Person arrest.
