The following reports were taken from Allston-Brighton’s District 14 crime logs from Nov. 6 to Nov. 13.
Officers responded to shots fired outside the Paradise Night Club on Commonwealth Avenue at 2:04 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10. On arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who explained that an argument had erupted among a small group of people leaving the club.
One suspect stated that a suspect wearing a green shirt with white lettering drew a handgun and fired two shots into the air. The crowd dispersed and three suspects — two black males and one white — ran east on Commonwealth Avenue.
A search for the suspects and any ballistic evidence turned up nothing, but police were able to obtain a surveillance video from outside the club.
GAS STATION STOP
At approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, a 21-year-old Boston University student was attacked by a group of six teenagers on Gardner Street. The victim told officers the suspects approached him while he was walking to his house on the street.
One suspect said he had a knife and asked the victim what valuables he was carrying. The suspect then put the knife to the victim’s throat and punched him in the head causing the victim to fall. The group then converged on the victim, beating and kicking him.
The suspects stole the student’s credit card, debit card, BU ID and New Jersey driver’s license from his front pocket. The victim said he thinks he lost consciousness for a short time after the assailants fled the scene before he walked home and notified the police.
When officers arrived, they observed swelling around the victim’s right eye and bleeding near his mouth. However, the victim refused any medical attention.
At roughly the same time as officers responded to the victim, other officers observed six teenagers at a Hess station on Brighton Avenue. When officers took the victim to the gas station, he identified them as the group who had robbed him. Officers also discovered the stolen property on a shelf inside the gas station.
The suspects were arrested and transported to the D-14 police station. During a search of the suspects, officers found a scabbard attached to a belt, a folding knife, a laptop computer, a small bag of marijuana, a can of spray paint, permanent markers and a notebook with graffiti designs.
eBAY LOSER
At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, a 32-year-old Allston resident entered the D-14 police station and reported that he had been scammed in an E-Bay auction.
According to the victim, he had shipped a BMW DVD cover valued at $200.99 to the highest bidder in an eBay auction a month earlier. However, the buyer soon contacted the victim and stated that he wished to return the cover because it was damaged during installation.
The victim agreed to refund the entire sum of money if the suspect returned the item. Yet, when the package was returned, the box contained only five rolls of tape.
The victim provided officers with the suspect’s e-mail address and eBay username to aid in an investigation.
