Jess’ character gets a lot of backlash from fans who feel he was a bad influence on Rory, the straight-edge, Yale University-bound protagonist. I cannot agree with this discourse. I think they were the best relationship on the show.
Reality TV is definitely not reality, but that’s why I find it so comforting. Nothing in my day-to-day life resembles what I see on reality TV, and I can, without a doubt, turn on the TV to escape my reality.
I love figuring out which genres my friends and family like and tailoring my recommendations to them. I think by now, however, everyone I know is sick of hearing me wax poetic about TV, so I’ll do it here instead.
“Scrubs,” a medical “drama” that doesn’t take itself too seriously, has easily become my comfort show in my first semester of college and 2021 in general.
