Congresswoman and Boston University alumna Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been making moves in recent months. In her time as a Terrier, she busted moves, as well.
A video showing Ocasio-Cortez and other BU students dancing on the rooftop of the College of Arts and Sciences was shared across social media Thursday, the same day Ocasio-Cortez was sworn in to the U.S. House of Representatives.
The four-minute video was created in the fall of 2010 by the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground, according to an October 2010 article published in BU Today.
Ocasio-Cortez and her peers are seen dancing in BU apparel to “Lisztomania” by the band Phoenix. The video is a so-called “Brat Pack Mashup,” which was an internet trend mixing “Lisztomania” with scenes from popular 1980s movies such as “The Breakfast Club.”
A shortened version of the HTC’s video was shared by several Twitter users to discredit Ocasio-Cortez, who is listed with the nickname “Sandy” in the video’s credits.
Here is America’s favorite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is…

The tweet inaccurately stated that the video was filmed in Ocasio-Cortez’s high school years, which drew responses from BU community members on social media.
Ok 1) this is adorable and endearing and 2) that is not high school that is the roof of CAS I think I had enough astronomy labs up there to know https://t.co/n1NUHJKQ0F

Im mostly offended that everyone keeps mentioning this is in high school. Shes wearing a Boston University shirt and is clearly on top of a comm ave building around CAS and Law 😒 https://t.co/taA5po48vF

the only thing that gets me mad about this video is people thinking @AOC is in high school here when she is CLEARLY on the roof of CAS at BU and therefore in college https://t.co/lqLjYC9wou

The video was filmed by then-College of Communication students and Howard Thurman Center Ambassadors Julian Jensen (‘12) and Eric Calvin Baker (‘13), according to the BU Today article.
Ocasio-Cortez graduated from CAS in 2011 with a degree in economics and international relations. She represents New York’s 14th congressional district in Congress, which covers sections of the Bronx and Queens.

I’m disappointed at the actions of this BU alum. Many of the platforms that she backed are not in her day-to-day practice, thus making her a hypocrite. If she’s not willing to pay out workers comp to her own staff, how can she fight on behalf of others? She has done nothing but win the vote of the uneducated (reminds me of someone else currently in office). Horrible to see what is happening to our political system currently. If only those in power actually understood the power of legislation and what it takes to create real change. SMH
