UNITE HERE Local 26 union workers at Fenway Park and MGM Music Hall are continuing to fight for a new contract with Aramark, the ballpark’s management company, following a three-day strike in late July.
On Monday night, Boston University Student Government proposed a bill to remove Starbucks from campus and discussed the responsibilities of at-large parties in the Senate.
Boston University College Democrats and other organizations launched a national effort at BU in solidarity with union workers on Red Cup Day, one of the busiest days of the year for Starbucks, to remove the chain from college campuses.
In 2020, however, the scammer is no longer represented by some seedy individual bombarding your Instagram or spam emails. The scammer is now your government, your health care provider and even your university.
The University should be using its resources and platform to practice anti-racist work and learn about, rather than shy away from, the challenges faced by Black, Indigenous and people of color.
In an interview with The Daily Free Press Thursday, BU President Robert Brown discussed building a sense of community on a physically distanced campus; minimizing health risks for BU students, faculty and staff; and communicating to the student body about unprecedented decisions — as well as other issues that have lingered in students’ minds in recent weeks.
A lot has changed in the world in the weeks since our first campaign event, but one thing hasn't: even from a distance, students are still organizing to call on Aramark to do better on climate change.
A group called “Expose BU” has taken aim at Boston University Dining Services and their ongoing affiliation with Aramark, a food supply company that caters for corporate events and several universities in Boston. The group staged a protest Thursday afternoon at the George Sherman Union, featuring a modest turnout and some chanting.
